Hazard Class 9 – Miscellaneous hazardous materials

Miscellaneous Hazardous Materials are materials that present a hazard during transportation but do not meet the definitions of hazard classes 1 - 8. This includes:

• Material that has an anesthetic, noxious, or similar property that could cause extreme annoyance or discomfort to a flight crewmember so as to prevent the correct performance of assigned duties.
• Any material that meets the definition in §171.8 of an elevated temperature material, a hazardous substance, a hazardous waste, or a marine pollutant.
